It was released on May 18, 2010, as the lead single for their fifth studio album, Nightmare.

Lyrically, “Nightmare” deals with an individual who is damned for his wrongdoings on earth. The song is sung from the point of view of a resident of hell, who may have once been a living person too, mocking the other character and pointing out that it’s his own fault he’s in hell. It is their first single released without former drummer The Rev, who died on December 28, 2009.[1] The song was released digitally on May 18 and 21, 2010 on the US and worldwide, respectively, on iTunes as well as an animated lyric video on YouTube, which received over 275,000 plays in 24 hours.[2][3][4] A preview for the song was released on May 6, 2010, on Amazon.com, but was removed soon after for unknown reasons.[4] However, on May 10, 2010, a 30-second audio uncensored sample was again revealed, but this time at SoundCloud.

The xx – Islands – MIDI File https://midiboss.com/product/the-xx-islands-midi-file/ Sun, 20 Mar 2022 09:05:38 +0000 https://midiboss.com/?post_type=product&p=1394 See all The xx]]> Islands” is a song recorded by English indie pop band The xx for their self-titled debut studio album. Written by band-members Jamie Smith, Oliver Sim, Romy Madley Croft and then-member Baria Qureshi, “Islands” is a dark and simple indie pop track. It also contains influences from house music and features instrumentation from guitars and synthesizers. Croft and Sim, who provided vocals in the track, sing about themes related to loyalty and love. “Islands” was released on 26 October 2009 as the third single from the album by Young Turks in 7-inch single and digital download formats. In March 2010, the song was re-released as a 12-inch single.

Critically well received, “Islands” was praised for its melody and the vocal performances of Croft and Sim. It was later ranked at number 28 on NME magazine’s list of the “150 Best Tracks of the Past 15 Years”. The song became the band’s highest-peaking single in the United Kingdom after it reached number 34 on the UK Singles Chart. It also peaked at number three on the UK Indie Chart. An accompanying music video for “Islands” was directed by Saam Farahmand, and consists of numerous tracking shots that show six dancers performing a dance routine around the members of the band. Every different shot features a slight change in the expression, gestures, and movement of the dancers and band-members. Critics complimented the concept of the video, and felt it was representative of The xx’s musical style. The band performed the song live at the iTunes Festival in 2010 and it was also included on the set list of their 2010 and 2013 tour.

A cover version of “Islands” was recorded by Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira for inclusion in her ninth studio album Sale el Sol (2010). The cover followed a very similar instrumentation to the original version, but featured a faster tempo and more house elements. Shakira performed the cover live at the 2010 Glastonbury Festival in Pilton, Somerset.

Underoath – A Boy Brushed Red Living In Black And White – MIDI File https://midiboss.com/product/underoath-a-boy-brushed-red-living-in-black-and-white-midi-file/ Sun, 20 Mar 2022 08:13:00 +0000 https://midiboss.com/?post_type=product&p=1366 See all Underoath]]> They’re Only Chasing Safety is the fourth album by American post-hardcore band Underoath. It was released on June 15, 2004, through Solid State Records. Following the release of their third studio The Changing of Times (2002), half of the band’s members were replaced. After finalizing the line-up with vocalist Spencer Chamberlain, in February 2004, the band recorded their next release with producer James Paul Wisner at his home studio Wisner Productions. The album has been tagged with genres including screamo and melodic hardcore. Drummer Aaron Gillespie had more of a vocal presence to contrast Chamberlain’s screams.

Before the album’s release, Underoath undertook a tour with their labelmates and later with Eighteen Visions. Throughout 2004, the band went on the Warped Tour before going on their own headlining tour, and closed the year supporting Coheed and Cambria. “Reinventing Your Exit” was released as the lead single in February 2005. An appearance on the inaugural Taste of Chaos tour led to another headlining US tour, shows in Europe and a second spell on Warped Tour. A Canadian tour in late 2005 with the Used preceded a reissue of the album in October 2005.

It received generally favorable reviews from music critics, some of whom highlighted the various musical styles and praised Underoath for its accessibility. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified the album gold in the US in 2011, and it was nominated for a Dove Award for best rock album. It has been re-pressed on vinyl and performed in its entirety.

TOOL – Stinkfist – MIDI File https://midiboss.com/product/tool-stinkfist-midi-file/ Sun, 20 Mar 2022 07:37:32 +0000 https://midiboss.com/?post_type=product&p=1355 See all Tool]]> Stinkfist” is a song by the American metal band Tool. It is their first industry single and first music video release from their second major label album Ænima.

The song title, the lyrics and the perceived subject matter caused changes to be made to the originally released version by TV[3] and radio programmers, who also shortened the track. The track has also been remixed by Skinny Puppy.

Keenan said the use of the words “stink” and “fist” and the resulting perception of “fist fucking” is actually symbolic in dealing with a friend of drummer Danny Carey who “isn’t afraid of getting his hands dirty” rather than a “write-off” of the sexual term.[4] Instead, fist fucking is a metaphor for the real cause of ailment.[5] Keenan would introduce the song during the Ænima tour as “about choosing compassion over fear”
