MIDI files are most commonly opened with digital audio workstations (DAWs) to view and edit each track contained within the file. However, MIDI is compatible with music workstations, sequencers, sample pads and many other hardware and software applications that have MIDI capabilities. MIDI files can also be played as a single track using media players such as Windows Media Player.
